The Penitent Church
Repentance – You gotta get down before you get up
2 Corinthians 7:10 – Communion
“Repentance” – The forgotten word in the church today. Humbling ourselves before God is a prerequisite to revival. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
We can never truly turn to God until we have turned from sin. When we were saved, we repented and believed. To walk with Christ, confession and repentance are as essential as breathing in and out is to continue living. There is freedom and deliverance to be found when we repent. Repentance is not a dirty word, it’s one of the building blocks of the Christian’s life.

Matthew 6:5-13, Psalms 35:13 – Prayer and Fasting
Revival never comes without a deep longing for it. This deep longing will only find it’s fulfillment if we earnestly pray for it, believe God for it, and listen intently to His voice concerning His will for us. Sometimes fasting is what it takes to get us in the position to hear from God and to properly respond to His voice. Prayer and fasting work together as we draw near to God and look for Him to draw near to us.
